Protesters gathered outside the US District court in Washington, DC, on Friday, two days after the Federal Bureau of Investigation released Press TV journalist Marzieh Hashemi.
The crowd rallied in support of Hashemi and against the actions of the US government that ordered her arrest at St. Louis international airport on January 13.
"It can be called whatever they want to call it, but I was kidnapped from the St. Louis airport. Fortunately my son Reza was with me otherwise who knows what could have happened. You can be made to disappear very easily," Hashemi told those who had come to support her.
Hashemi said she was arrested as a material witness to testify in a case that has a lot to do "with where I live and related to the work I do."
She had been filming a Black Lives Matter documentary after visiting relatives in the New Orleans area.
